Bucket list places I have been DYING to visit!!

Sometimes half of the fun of doing a destination wedding is exploring the endless possibilities of where to go. From the coasts of Washington to majestic towering red rocks in Utah, the world is truly your oyster if you decide to do a destination wedding. Narrowing down the perfect backdrop for your big can be extremely stressful, especially when it’s in a location you and/or your partner have never been. For the most part, you really have to rely on google searches, location reviews, websites, etc. So to help you get started, below you will find my top 5 dream locations in the US to shoot at for destination weddings.

Hawaii

Arguably one of the most dreamy destination locations for couples tying the knot. Hawaii is known for its beautiful landscapes, beaches, and even wonderful people! With such a relaxed island vibe, Hawaii is a no brainer. Hawaii has something to offer everyone, especially your wedding photographer (wink wink). The beaches, landscape will give your photographer so many opportunities to create dreamy content that you’ll never get sick of.

Oregon

It’s truly hard to beat the variety that Oregon offers. In just ONE state, you’ll find mountains, dense forests, waterfalls, the ocean, and even the desert! And one of the best parts is that most of these places are relatively close in locations and easy to get to. So if you are one of those people who may not really be interested in hiking or you really want your family to be there with you, you don’t have to worry about sacrificing beauty for your ceremony.. Work harder not smarter right? As a photographer getting the perfect shot is worth the work, but in this case, your photographer can still capture the perfect shot!

South Dakota (Black Hills/Badlands)

I think we can say that this one speaks for itself, especially if you are from the Midwest like I am! But first off, the people of South Dakota are so kind and easy to work with, which is a DREAM when it comes to being a wedding photographer. They are eager to help with location scouting, which means there’s a high chance we’ll take photos that only the locals know about. And we cannot forget about the sunsets and starry nights. The colors and vibrancy of those South Dakota sunsets are indescribable. Also, has anyone actually had a disappointing experience in the Badlands?? It looks like the surface of another planet and it is so wide and vast that you feel like you are the only one experiencing it.

Utah

As we have gotten to number 4, you can clearly see a pattern haha. These places have scenery that cannot be beat. So when making this list, I knew Utah was a place I couldn’t leave out. The towering red rock formations are unlike anything else. Combine that with waterfalls, fivers, canyons, and salt flats, it makes for one unique place to get married. With so many beautiful National Parks to choose from, it would be hard to be disappointed! I mean, I can’t lie, this place would be a DREAM. The hues of the landscape is a photographer's playground!

Washington State

To close it all out, I chose Washington State. If you haven’t googled this place, grab your phone, and google it. You truly won’t be disappointed. And then when you decide to have your destination wedding here, email me, and i’ll be there ;)... But in all seriousness, this place feels almost out of a story book. Like most of the places listed above, it has a huge diversity of landscapes: from towering trees, to snow capped mountains, to the beach, to the city, and everything in between. But I think my favorite part is the EPIC venues and Air B&Bs! There are so many awesome places to celebrate your love! You can pick an outdoor location or adventure, like the coast, or you can choose an Air B&B in the middle of the woods!
