10 Things your wedding photographer wants you to know

From the day you book your wedding photographer all the way until you get your gallery in your inbox, we want it all to run as smoothly as possible. Here are some tips that photographers want their clients to keep in mind to make sure that happens!!

1. It is your day not anyone else’s

Don't let others pressure you do something you don't want to do on your wedding day, this day will only happen once and you want it to authentically represent you and your partner's love. Invite, or don't invite someone, jump in the lake with your dress on, have a private dance, it's YOUR day!

2. Have a schedule on your wedding day and share it with your photographer

Make sure to communicate your wedding day schedule with your photographer in order for them to get all the shots you want and stay on track with how you want your day to flow.

3. Share the shot list with your wedding party

Wedding photographers often have to scramble to find the wedding party or others the couple wants photos with. In order to make sure everyone is included share the schedule and shot list with your guests so they know where to be and your favorite grandma gets a photo with you!

4. Share your inspo with me and I'll take care of the rest

I love getting my creative juices flowing and make your dream come to life!

5. Please don't edit your photos

For weddings I take about 2,000-3,000 photos, I comb through them, choose the best, and edit them with love! Make sure to go through the photographer you’re wanting to hire matches the style you want.

6. Schedule in alone time for you and your partner

Your day will fly by and you don't want to feel like you couldn't enjoy it with your partner. Whether it's a first look, private meal or private last dance, have special alone time without distractions to cherish every second!

7. Be patient

Wedding photographers have to comb through hundreds sometimes thousands of photos to find the best ones and our editing list can get long. Please be patient so that we can get your photos back to you.

8. Give thanks

We love hearing feedback from clients it warms our hearts knowing we did a good job capturing your day! Plus it helps us our business since reviews and word of mouth are among the ways a client decides to book us or not.

9. Print your photos!!

Print them, make them into a puzzle, make a physical photo album, print them to loved ones, frame them, hang them up, make a key chain, there are so many ways for you to relive your special day, don't let them collect digital dust!

10. R e l a x

Some things may not happen EXACTLY like you plan them and that is OKAY! Enjoy your day and don't stress about the little things!
